May updates

Geeky Karaoke is still going strong. I thank all of those who have contributed to helping make this as amazing/fun as it is. So for all of you that helped (you know who you are) here is a special gif for you.
As most of you know it is the First of May and I would be disappointed if you didn’t know what that means… Besides the obvious, this means that summer will soon be upon us. LAN parties, BBQQs, beach trips, and more karaoke! To my point, I’m try to get a feel for how many of you would be interested in a Geeky Oregon LAN. Just email me at geeksgeekyoregon.com or comment on this webspace if you are at all interested.

Until next time!

And I’m back

Now for the early April update. Got back from PAX East, it was AMAZING! While on the topic of PAX, its about time to start planning for PRIME in Seattle. Tickets went on sale this past week and I’m thinking will sell out quickly. Some of us over here at G33kHouse are planning on making a trip up with a couple of rooms and possibly a 15 passenger van. If you are interested please email me at GeeksGeekyOregoncom and we’ll see what we can work out.

This being April there were some good April Fools gags online… Google always has good ones… Think Geek as well… I too played a very malicious (yet funny) prank on my Twitter followers by telling them that I had 4 Star Craft 2 Beta keys to give out. I however did not, but I did gain 10 new followers in 10 minutes… and to add insult to injury I was actually given beta access yesterday. So I might be getting a beta key to give out at some point. If/When this happens you can bet I will be giving it out at one of the Geeky Karaoke events. But only to the person who preforms asinine tasks for my amusement. :)

Remember Geeky Karaoke for this month will be on April 16th! See you there!

Huge Success!

Geeky Karaoke was an amazing success! We had quite a few people show up for our first installment of Geeky Karaoke. We plan on doing this monthly, we will try to have it as the 3rd Friday of the month. So next month it will be on Feb. 19th. We here at Geeky Oregon HQ are also trying to find other events we can do. If you come up with a great idea we will see what we can do to help you promote it.

PS: A special thanks to Brad Carter for making the 1 hour drive up from Albany to join us.(I’m thinking this may start us off with a new feature of the site… “Geek ‘o the month”)

Geeky Karaoke… Info!

Karaoke night will be on Jan. 15th at MaGuffy’s in Beaverton. The reason I picked this place is because I know the KJ, he is awesome (So be sure to tip him well! Or ELSE!) and has also allowed me to slip in a Jonathan Coulton Karaoke disk. So come one come all for a fun night of Geeky Karaoke!

This is at a bar, so 21+ only… :(

I hope to see you there!

December midnight movie and more!

nightmarelargeOn Friday (12/4/09) I (N8Lewis) is going to be at “The Cort and Fatboy Midnight Movie.” This months movie is “THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.” The festivities start around 10:00PM (Or so says the FaceBook event page), the preshow is going to be a screening of the Tim Burton short film “Frankenweenie” (1984). So come sing along with me and my merry band of off key geeky friends! Also coming up in December… “Silent Night Deadly Night” at the Hollywood! As soon as I find out the play times I will try to set up a sort of Christmas Tweet up for us Oregon Geeks!

Also just as a pre-warning THE Jonathan Coulton will be playing at the Aladdin Theater on Feb. 27th! I will see you guys there… I hope to have some more shirts by then and also stickers and buttons. More about this event later.

I should have an event calendar up very soon as well. So you guys can keep up with the geeky events of Portland and Oregon!

If I don’t see or hear from you before the 11th or the 25th… Have a Happy Chanukah and a Merry Christmas!

If you have any suggestions for the site you should email them to Geeks@GeekyOregon.com. All suggestions are welcome. If you would also like to write for us please feel free to send those requests to the same address!
